The WaveTester is one of the world's most economical and accurate fiber optic link certification power meters delivering professional performance and a complete feature set for optical loss testing in both multimode and/or singlemode networks.

The WaveTester is offered in two models. The WT-1 is N.I.S.T. Traceable at four commonly used industry standard wavelengths (850, 1300, 1310, and 1550). This makes it an ideal choice for both multimode and singlemode testing.

The WT-1I is also N.I.S.T. Traceable at the standard wavelengths, and also comes factory calibrated at 1625nm.

Each model of the WaveTester can store reference values for all of its calibrated wavelengths, and displays optical power as an absolute value in dBm or relative to a user set "zero" reference in dB. Stored data points contain this reference information, and when data is downloaded into our free OWL Reporter software, the data can be certified using one of many popular cabling standards. OWL Reporter can also print professional-looking certification reports as proof to customers of a job well done. OWL Reporter data can also be saved to hard disk for later retrieval.

Other standard features include a backlit, easy-to-read LCD display and a 2.5mm universal detector port that is compatible with FC, ST, SC, DIN, and any other 2.5 mm ferrule connectors! No need to maintain expensive adapter caps! The WaveTester is protected from shock and droppage by an attractive rugged rubber boot.

The temperature compensated outputs are calibrated to couple -20dBm of optical power into multimode fiber. The light sources are offered in a single 850nm or 1300nm version or with both 850nm and 1300nm sources installed. The single source versions can be easily upgraded to include the other source. The source is simple to operate with a single switch controlling power and output wavelength selection. LED indicators highlight the selected source and verify that battery power is sufficient to maintain the calibrated output power.

Dual OWL series fiber optic light sources offer exceptional value at an economical price. These LED-based sources provide the fiber optic installer with a stable output when testing multimode fiber optic runs. The Dual OWL combines the 850 OWL and the 1300 OWL into one light source to provide the widest range of options for multimode optical fiber testing.

Laser OWL series light sources provide high output and stability in an economical price. The laser diodes use temperature compensated outputs, and are calibrated to couple -10dBm of optical power into single-mode fiber. The sources are simple to operate with a single switch controlling power and selecting the output wavelength. LED indicators highlight the selected source and verify that battery power is sufficient to maintain the calibrated output power.

The Laser OWL is a laser based light source designed to test singlemode fiber optic links. The LED indicator shows whether the unit is ON or OFF, and whether the battery has enough power to maintain its calibrated output power. Dual 1310 and 1550nm light sources provide dual wavelength testing that conforms to international testing standards. Lasers such as the ones in Laser OWL light sources produce intense beams of infrared energy that is invisible to the eye.
