Anritsu MS46121A USB Vector Network Analyzer

The Anritsu MS46121A USB Vector Network Analyzer is a compact RF test instrument from Anritsu’s ShockLine family. It connects to an external computer through USB and uses ShockLine software for control and displaying results, providing a space-saving solution for engineering, manufacturing, and educational testing.

The MS46121A is a one-port analyzer that measures signal reflection, including both magnitude and phase. These measurements help users evaluate impedance matching and determine how much RF energy returns from an antenna, connector, or other device rather than being accepted by it.

It's offered in two frequency configurations: 40 MHz to 4 GHz and 150 kHz to 6 GHz. Standard capabilities include one-port S-parameter measurements and band-pass time-domain distance-to-fault analysis, which helps locate discontinuities along a cable or RF connection.

Its small size allows the analyzer to connect directly to the device under test. Up to 16 independent MS46121A units can operate from one computer, enabling parallel testing of multiple one-port devices and helping increase production throughput.

An optional scalar transmission function allows multiple units to work together to measure transmission magnitude, such as cable loss or filter response. This expands the system’s testing flexibility, although scalar transmission measures magnitude only, rather than the complete magnitude-and-phase transmission response of a two-port VNA.

Features:

  • One RF test port for reflection measurements
  • Magnitude and phase measurements of the reflected signal
  • Two frequency configurations: 40 MHz–4 GHz or 150 kHz–6 GHz
  • Standard one-port S-parameter testing
  • Standard band-pass time-domain analysis for distance-to-fault measurements
  • USB connection to an external computer
  • ShockLine software for control and displaying results
  • Compact design that can connect directly to the device under test
  • Parallel operation of up to 16 analyzers from one computer
  • Optional scalar transmission testing using multiple units to measure cable loss or filter response
