The Evident 39DL PLUS Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge is a portable instrument used to measure material thickness without cutting or damaging the object being inspected. It supports both precision measurements during manufacturing and corrosion inspections on existing equipment.

The gauge works by sending high-frequency sound waves into a material through a probe called a transducer. It measures how long the sound takes to travel through the material and reflect back, then calculates thickness using the material’s sound velocity. This allows measurements with access to only one side of an object.

One major use is finding areas where corrosion or erosion has reduced wall thickness. Inspectors can scan pipes and other components to locate thin spots. Its display updates at rates up to 60 times per second, helping users identify thickness changes while moving the probe.

The 39DL PLUS supports different probes and optional software for various materials and applications. Depending on the setup, it can measure through coatings, inspect multiple layers, or evaluate materials such as fiberglass and rubber.
