Extech SDL800 Vibration Meter/Datalogger
The Extech SDL800 Vibration Meter/Datalogger is a portable instrument that measures and records vibration in machinery. It helps maintenance technicians monitor equipment condition and investigate changes that may indicate mechanical problems. The meter measures acceleration, velocity, and displacement, providing different ways to assess how strongly a machine vibrates.
The SDL800 uses a remote vibration sensor with a magnetic mounting adapter and a 1.2-meter cable. This arrangement allows the sensor to attach to a suitable metal surface while the operator reads the handheld display. Its measurement frequency range of 10 Hz to 1 kHz supports vibration checks on many types of industrial equipment.
Its data-logging function records readings with date and time stamps onto an SD memory card. Users can transfer the information to a computer for analysis in Excel, making it easier to compare measurements and track changes over time. The instrument also supports manual storage of up to 99 readings.
Additional functions include RMS and peak measurements, minimum and maximum recording, data hold, and a zero function. Adjustable logging intervals from one to 3,600 seconds allow users to select how frequently readings are saved. Supplied with a sensor, magnetic mount, batteries, SD card, and hard carrying case, the SDL800 supports routine inspections and ongoing machinery condition monitoring.
Features:
- Three measurement types: Acceleration, velocity, and displacement.
- 10 Hz–1 kHz frequency range: Suitable for many machinery vibration checks.
- Remote vibration sensor: Includes a magnetic mount and 1.2-meter cable.
- RMS and peak measurement modes: Evaluate overall vibration levels and peaks.
- SD-card data logging: Saves readings with date and time stamps for analysis in Excel.
- Adjustable logging interval: Select from 1 to 3,600 seconds.
- Manual memory: Stores up to 99 readings.
- Minimum/maximum recording: Tracks the lowest and highest readings.
- Data Hold and Max Hold: Keeps readings on screen for review.
- Zero adjustment: Establishes a measurement reference.
- Selectable units: Supports metric and imperial units, plus acceleration in g.
- Basic accuracy: ±(5% of reading + 2 digits), under specified conditions.
- Battery operation: Uses six AA batteries; an optional AC adapter is available.
- Automatic power-off: Helps conserve batteries.
