Flir GF77A Uncooled Gas Detection Camera

The camera uses a spectrally filtered infrared detector to visualize supported gases. The GF77a-LR version is designed primarily for methane detection, while the GF77a-HR version visualizes ammonia and ethylene. Operators can use the resulting images to identify a leaking component and see how a gas plume moves through the monitored area.

With a 320 × 240 infrared detector and a 30 Hz image rate, the GF77a produces video for observing gas movement. FLIR’s High Sensitivity Mode enhances plume visibility, while remote motorized focus helps operators adjust the image from a distance. Its uncooled detector operates without a cryogenic cooling mechanism.

The GF77a connects to a network for remote viewing and integration with compatible monitoring systems. Support for RTSP streaming, GigE Vision and third-party software allows its images to become part of a wider inspection or automated monitoring installation. Its compact design makes it suitable for mounting near equipment requiring regular observation.

By helping locate gas leaks, the GF77a supports maintenance planning, product loss reduction and emissions monitoring. It also provides radiometric temperature information for thermal assessment. Gas visibility depends on the gas type and viewing conditions, and the camera does not provide built-in gas concentration or leak-rate quantification.

Features:

  • Fixed, continuous monitoring: Designed for ongoing gas leak surveillance at industrial facilities.
  • Optical gas imaging: Makes supported gas emissions visible in infrared video, helping locate leaking components.
  • Uncooled detector: Uses a microbolometer without a cryogenic cooling system.
  • 320 × 240 infrared resolution: Provides 76,800 thermal imaging pixels.
  • 30 Hz image rate: Displays gas movement in real time.
  • High Sensitivity Mode (HSM): Enhances gas plume visibility.
  • Remote motorized focus: Allows operators to adjust focus remotely.
  • Visible-light camera and MSX: Adds visual detail to infrared images to help identify equipment.
  • Network video streaming: Supports RTSP and GigE Vision.
  • Third-party integration: Open architecture allows connection to compatible monitoring and analysis systems.
  • Compact, lightweight design: Suitable for installation around equipment and processing areas.
