Fluke PVA-1500T2 Solmetric PV Analyzer IV Curve Tracer
The Fluke Solmetric PVA-1500T2 is a portable I-V curve tracer for testing photovoltaic (PV) modules and strings. Solar installers and maintenance technicians use it to check whether an array is producing the power expected of it during commissioning, routine inspections, and troubleshooting.
The analyzer measures how a module or string’s current changes across its voltage range and displays the result as an I-V curve. It also generates a power-versus-voltage curve and calculates values such as open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current, and maximum power. The curve and these values give technicians a detailed picture of electrical performance.
The PVA-1500T2 works with Fluke’s wireless SolSensor, which measures sunlight intensity, module temperature, and array tilt. The software uses those conditions to predict how the PV module should perform, then compares the predicted I-V curve with the measured curve. Differences can point technicians toward strings or modules that need closer inspection.
A Windows tablet or laptop controls the instrument over Wi-Fi and displays the test results. Technicians can organize measurements by site and array, save them as a baseline, and use Fluke’s analysis tools to compare strings and prepare reports. This is useful when testing many strings in a large installation.
The PVA-1500T2 measures strings with open-circuit voltages from 20 to 1,500 V DC. Its current range is up to 30 A for modules below 19% efficiency and up to 10 A for modules at or above 19% efficiency. Those limits distinguish it from the PVA-1500HE2, which supports up to 30 A on high-efficiency modules.
Features:
- Measures and displays I-V curves for solar modules and strings
