Fujikura 100S Core Alignment Single Fiber Fusion Splicer

The Fujikura 100R Mass Fusion Splicer is a fiber optic joining instrument designed for telecommunications networks and data center installations. It uses a controlled electric arc to fuse prepared optical fiber ends together, forming permanent connections that allow light signals to travel through the cable with minimal signal loss. By joining several fibers simultaneously, it helps technicians complete large splicing jobs efficiently.

The 100R supports individual fibers and ribbon fibers, which contain multiple optical fibers arranged together. Available configurations include the 100R4, 100R12, and 100R16, capable of splicing up to four, twelve, or sixteen fibers respectively. Interchangeable V-grooves and matching fiber holders allow compatible configurations to work with different ribbon sizes and fiber spacing. This flexibility is useful when working with high-density fiber optic cables.

To make fiber preparation and positioning easier, the instrument features AUTO FIBER FIT, which automatically helps seat fibers correctly in the V-grooves. Its FH-80 fiber holders help secure ribbon fibers, including intermittently bonded designs such as Spider Web Ribbon. These features reduce manual repositioning and help technicians maintain a consistent workflow when making many connections.

The 100R also incorporates automatic functions that support reliable splicing. Fiber-end gap correction adjusts the spacing between opposing fibers, while automatic clamp-force adjustment holds them appropriately for their fiber count. Active Fusion Control regulates the arc conditions, and Active Blade Management monitors a compatible fiber cleaver’s blade condition. The automatic wind protector opens and closes to streamline operation and shield the splicing area.

For technicians working in the field, the 100R provides guidance and recordkeeping tools alongside its splicing functions. Splice Coach offers instructions through the splicing process, while GPS and the Splice+ app support recording splice locations. USB-C charging from compatible Power Delivery sources provides additional charging options. These capabilities make the 100R useful for building, expanding, and repairing fiber networks where productivity and consistent connection quality matter.

Features:

  • Mass fusion splicing: Joins multiple ribbon fibers simultaneously. The 100R4, 100R12, and 100R16 support up to 4, 12, and 16 fibers respectively.
  • Single-fiber capability: Also supports individual optical fiber splicing.
  • AUTO FIBER FIT: Automatically seats fibers in the V-grooves to reduce manual repositioning.
  • FH-80 fiber holders: Help secure ribbon fibers, including intermittently bonded Spider Web Ribbon.
  • Automatic fiber-end gap correction: Adjusts the spacing between opposing fiber ends before splicing.
  • Automatic clamp-force adjustment: Changes the holding force according to the fiber count.
  • Interchangeable V-grooves: Support different ribbon configurations. Compatible 100R12 and 100R16 configurations accommodate 200 μm and 250 μm fiber spacing.
  • Active Fusion Control: Automatically regulates arc conditions to support consistent splice quality.
  • Active Blade Management: Monitors a compatible cleaver’s blade wear and automatically advances its blade position.
  • Automatic wind protector: Opens and closes to simplify the splicing workflow.
  • Portrait-oriented screen: Improves visibility when working with wide, 16-fiber ribbons.
  • Splice Coach: Provides guidance through the splicing process.
  • GPS and Splice+ app support: Help record and manage splice locations.
  • USB-C Power Delivery charging: Allows charging from compatible power banks and other supported power sources.
