The Fujikura 100S Fusion Splicer Kit is a portable system used to join individual optical fibers during network installation, maintenance and repairs. Its core-alignment fusion splicer precisely positions the fibers before joining them, helping create connections with low optical signal loss. It is designed for single-fiber splicing work.

After the fibers are stripped, cleaned and cleaved, the splicer examines their ends and aligns their cores. An electric arc then melts and fuses the glass ends together, forming a permanent connection. This process allows technicians to connect fiber cables, attach pigtails and restore damaged fiber links.

Fujikura’s Active Fusion Control analyzes the cleaved fiber ends and adjusts the fusion process to suit their condition. This helps reduce splice loss and the need to repeat unsuccessful splices. Active Blade Management works with a compatible cleaver to manage blade wear and support consistent fiber preparation.

Once the splice is completed, a protective sleeve is placed over the joint and heated to secure it around the fiber. The kit brings the splicer together with preparation tools and accessories for fieldwork, although the exact contents vary by package. A carrying case helps technicians transport and organize the equipment between jobs.
