General Electric MicroVersa Trip Digital Test Kit TVRMS

The MicroVersaTrip Digital Test Kit is a light-weight, protable test instrument designed for field testing of MicroVersaTrip RMS-9 and Epic MicroVersaTrip digital solid-state programmers.

Application for Pre RMS-9 Programmers
The test kit interfaces with the programmer via a three-wire digital communication link, which connects to the programmer through the test jack on the front of the programmer rating plug. The test kit cannot be used to test the other MicroVersaTrip Solid-state programmers. Futhermore, the previous TVTS1 test kit cannot be used to test RMS-9 programmers, and could cause damage to the programmer if attempts are made to do so.

Programmer Testing
The MicroVersaTrip RMS-9 programmer consists of a power supply board and a logic board.
The new MicroVersaTrip Digital Test Kit should be used to test all RMS-9 and Epic programmers. The type of test selected confirms the proper operation of the programmer components. The input current sensors and flux shifter are external to the programmer.

The new test kit includes a number of user feature improvements over the previous TVTS1 Test kit:

• It operates form 120 Vac or six "D" cell batteries
• It tests programmers without de-energizing the breaker or removing the programmer from the breaker
• It has the capability to verify programmer switch settings
• The user may select trip or no-trip testing of time-overcurrent characteristics
• The user may monitor pickup current and trip time during high current injection testing
• All test procedures are menu-driven for ease of operation

The MicroVersaTrip Digital Test Kit Features:

• Performs tests in accordance with GES-6227, GES 6228, GES-6235 and GES-6228 time-current characteristic curves.
• Offers trip or no-trip testing for time-overcurrent characteristics Allows testing removal of the trip unit or de-energizing the breaker
• Confirms switch settings on RMS-9 and EPIC trip units
• Monitoring of pickup current and trip time during high-current injection testing
• Menu-driven test procedures for ease of use
• Test Kit interface with Trip Unit is accomplished through a 3-wire digital communication link
