Hilti PT-C Thermal Camera
The Hilti PT-C Thermal Camera is a handheld infrared imaging device used to inspect electrical equipment, mechanical systems, piping, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning installations. It shows surface temperature patterns as thermal images, helping technicians locate unusually hot or cold areas and investigate potential problems without touching the surface being inspected.
The PT-C measures temperatures from −20°C to 600°C (−4°F to 1,112°F) and captures both infrared and optical images. Users can compare temperature patterns with the visible equipment to locate areas requiring closer inspection. In electrical applications, it helps identify abnormal heating in fuse boxes, components, and cable connections that may indicate overloads or faults.
For mechanical and building maintenance, the camera helps investigate heating pipes, radiators, underfloor heating, air conditioning systems, and piping for temperature irregularities associated with faults or leaks. Industrial applications include checking for heat loss, damaged insulation, steam-trap problems, and unusual temperature patterns in coolant pipes and solar panels. These findings help technicians decide where further investigation or maintenance is needed.
Designed for jobsite use, the PT-C has a lightweight, ergonomic design and withstands drops of up to 1.5 metres. It supports voice notes and USB-C transfer of thermal images, optical images, and recorded observations. This makes it easier to document inspections, communicate suspected faults, and maintain records for repair planning and follow-up checks.
