WORKPLACE NOISE SAMPLING
Over the years, various types of Sound Level and Octave Band Meters have been used by Industrial Hygienists and Safety Professionals for monitoring workplace noise, most requiring significant operator training and producing varying degrees of effectiveness. At Larson Davis, we believe this is because until now, Sound Level Meters were designed primarily for use by Acoustical Engineers, not for Safety and Health professionals.
The SoundTrack LxT® Sound Level Meter was developed to meet the unique needs of those involved in workplace noise exposure assessment and plant noise surveys. It is fully compliant with IEC and ANSI standards for class 1 or class 2 sound level meters. In addition, LxT files are fully compatible with the ISO 9612:2009 measurement strategies for task or job-based measurements.
With its sleek ergonomic design to its exceptional exposure data presentations, the SoundTrack LxT® is the perfect tool for gathering, analyzing, and presenting detailed noise environment data quickly, easily, and concisely. New and better ways to organize your sampling methodology and annotate noise survey data save incredible amounts of time and provide better results – all at a price that won’t consume your entire instrumentation budget.
EASY TO USE, YET POWERFUL!
With its superior ergonomics and rugged compact design, SoundTrack LxT® allows you to capture the data you need while keeping one hand free – invaluable for juggling multiple tasks in hard-to reach locations. Once a test starts, LxT automatically performs all the necessary calculations of workplace exposure – to multiple compliance standards. With the ability to ‘hide’ display screens that are not relevant to your sampling strategy, the LxT is configurable for maximum utility and ease-of use. Add in the “Store when Stable (Leq)” feature and selective keypad lockout, and you can comfortably hand off the SoundTrack LxT® to minimally trained technicians with assurance of a positive outcome. No more skipped locations, questionable results, and missing data points.
DIGITAL VOICE ANNOTATION
Now you can record your own observations about the environment, the worker and tasks performed, or even whether proper hearing protection is worn – all at the push of a button, using the Digital Voice Note Recording option and included headset microphone. At the end of the day, recorded notes can be played back right from your PC – they are digitally stored with related noise data and exposure calculations for future reference.
AVAILABLE REAL-TIME OCTAVE BAND FREQUENCY ANALYSIS
With optional 1/1 or 1/3 Real-Time Octave Band Frequency Analysis, the SoundTrack LxT® quickly captures frequency band data, because all Octave (or 1/3 Octave) measurements are performed simultaneously. No more tedious “stepping through” each Octave Band, as in the past – all data is captured from virtually the same point in time; which is vital for maximum accuracy in a varying noise environment. What’s more, you’ll save significant amounts of time performing Octave Band measurements, which are an important part of determining effectiveness of Engineering Controls or selecting proper hearing protection devices (HPD’s).
