Megger DLRO2 2A Ducter Low-Resistance Ohmmeter
The Megger DLRO2 is a handheld 2 A low-resistance ohmmeter from Megger’s Ducter line. It measures very small amounts of electrical resistance that ordinary multimeters may not resolve clearly. Technicians use it to assess the condition of conductors, joints, contacts, and other electrical connections.
The DLRO2 applies a controlled test current and measures the resulting voltage to calculate resistance. Its four-terminal, or Kelvin, test method helps prevent the resistance of the test leads from distorting the reading. This makes it useful for checking connections where a small increase in resistance could indicate a loose, damaged, or deteriorating joint.
The instrument offers normal resistance, fast long-lead, and inductive test modes. Its long-lead mode supports measurements across large equipment or structures, while the inductive mode is intended for suitable components such as smaller motor windings. Technicians can use it in electrical maintenance, manufacturing quality checks, rail work, and lightning protection testing.
A built-in Difference Meter lets the user compare repeated readings with a reference measurement and see how much they have changed. The color display can also show recent results and warn when electrical noise or a poor test-lead connection may affect a reading. These features help when testing a series of similar connections.
The DLRO2 is powered by rechargeable AA batteries and has an IP54 rating for protection against dust and moisture during field use. It is rated CAT III 600 V and CAT IV 300 V, with protection against accidental connection to voltage up to 600 V. It is a practical tool for finding and tracking low-resistance problems in electrical systems.
