The Megger IMT100 Industrial Multi-Function Tester is a handheld instrument that combines insulation resistance, continuity, and precision low-resistance testing. It helps electricians and maintenance technicians inspect equipment, locate faults, and verify electrical connections during installation, commissioning, and maintenance. Its 600 V designation refers to its CAT III safety rating; it can generate insulation test voltages up to 1,000 V.

One of its main functions is checking the insulation around wiring and electrical components. It applies a controlled DC test voltage, measures leakage current, and calculates insulation resistance up to 200 GΩ. Timed tests, polarization index, and dielectric absorption ratio measurements provide additional information about insulation condition. A guard terminal helps reduce measurement errors caused by surface leakage. 

The IMT100 also checks continuity and measures very small resistances in conductors, connections, and protective bonding paths. Its four-wire Kelvin measurement method reduces the influence of test-lead resistance, helping technicians assess connections more accurately. Its low-resistance function measures from 1 mΩ to 10 Ω using a 200 mA test current. 

Additional functions include AC and DC voltage, frequency, phase rotation, diode testing, capacitance, inductance, and temperature measurement. These capabilities make it useful for industrial installations, motors, generators, solar photovoltaic systems, and electric vehicle components. Temperature compensation helps technicians compare resistance measurements taken under different temperature conditions. 

Designed for field use, the IMT100 has a full-color display, protective rubber housing, and an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance. It operates on six AA batteries and comes with rechargeable batteries and a charger. It stores up to 256 dated test results for USB export, while live-circuit detection and test-inhibit functions help protect the operator and instrument.
