The PRUFTECHNIK OPTALIGN smart Laser Optical Alignment System is a portable precision instrument used to align the shafts of connected rotating machines. Technicians use it on motors, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, and similar equipment. Correct alignment helps reduce mechanical stress, extend component life, and improve machine availability.

The system uses UniBeam single-laser technology with a measuring transducer and reflector mounted on the shafts or couplings. Its continuous sweep mode collects readings as the shafts rotate, allowing alignment measurements with as little as 60° of rotation. It determines angular and offset misalignment between the shafts.

The handheld computer displays alignment results graphically and numerically, including the corrections required at the machine feet. Its Live Move function shows changing readings as technicians reposition the machine horizontally or adjust shims vertically. A guided three-step workflow covers entering dimensions, measuring, and reviewing results.

OPTALIGN smart also checks for soft foot, where machine feet do not rest properly on the foundation. Its TolChek function evaluates alignment against tolerances, while InfiniRange extends the detector’s effective measurement area for substantial misalignment. Additional capabilities depend on the installed configuration.

Designed for industrial maintenance, OPTALIGN smart combines a backlit color display with a portable, protected housing. It saves measurement files and supports reporting, with USB connections and optional Bluetooth sensor communication. These functions help technicians document alignment work during installations, repairs, and routine maintenance.
