Pruftechnik OptAlign Touch Laser Shaft Alignment System
The PRUFTECHNIK OPTALIGN touch Laser Shaft Alignment System is a precision tool used to align the shafts of connected rotating machines, such as motors and pumps. It helps maintenance technicians identify and correct misalignment, which can contribute to vibration, coupling wear, and premature bearing or seal failure.
The system uses a laser and sensor mounted on the machine shafts or couplings. As the shafts rotate during measurement, it gathers data to determine their relative alignment. The original OPTALIGN touch configuration uses sensALIGN 5 single-laser technology and sends measurements wirelessly to a touchscreen handheld device.
Its guided interface takes the operator through entering machine dimensions, measuring alignment, and reviewing results. The system calculates the corrections needed, helping technicians determine where to add or remove shims and how far to move the machine horizontally. This reduces manual calculation during routine alignment work.
The Live Move feature displays alignment changes in real time while technicians adjust the machine. Other functions include continuous SWEEP measurement, automatic alignment evaluation, and soft-foot detection, which helps identify uneven support beneath machine feet. Together, these tools help users make corrections and confirm the final alignment condition.
Designed for industrial maintenance, OPTALIGN touch combines a rugged handheld device with measurement storage and reporting capabilities. Wi-Fi connectivity supports transferring alignment files to compatible PRUFTECHNIK software for documentation and analysis. These records help maintenance teams compare machine conditions over time and verify completed alignment work.
