The TREND Networks SignalTEK QT 10G Copper Qualification Tester is a portable instrument used to check Ethernet cabling and troubleshoot network connections. Designed for installers and IT technicians, it determines whether copper network cables can support a selected Ethernet speed, from 10 Mb/s through 10 Gb/s, including 2.5G and 5G connections.

The tester evaluates cable performance by measuring characteristics such as near-end crosstalk, return loss, and insertion loss. These tests help identify whether installed cabling is suitable for the intended network speed. Its live wiremap and fault-location functions also help technicians find wiring problems and determine where faults occur along a cable.

For troubleshooting active networks, the SignalTEK QT includes tools such as ping, traceroute, device discovery, and switch-port information. It also performs Power over Ethernet load testing up to 90 watts, helping confirm that a connection can supply sufficient power for equipment such as wireless access points, IP cameras, and VoIP phones.

The SignalTEK QT also scans Wi-Fi access points to check signal strength and identify channel conflicts. Its connection to TREND AnyWARE Cloud supports project management, test setup, and sharing results, while remote-access tools allow colleagues to assist with diagnostics. Together, these functions help technicians assess cabling, investigate connection problems, and document their work.
