The TREND Networks UniPRO MGig1 Duo PRO is a handheld Gigabit Ethernet transmission tester built for installing, verifying, and troubleshooting network links. It helps technicians check whether a connection delivers the bandwidth and service quality promised by a provider. The tester is suited to carrier Ethernet, enterprise networks, mobile backhaul, and copper or fiber links operating at speeds up to 1 Gb/s.

The Duo PRO has two test ports and supports both copper and optical connections, making it useful for testing a link and monitoring live traffic. For a more complete picture of performance, it can run bidirectional tests with a second compatible UniPRO tester at the far end. Its inline monitoring functions also help technicians investigate traffic and errors while a network is operating.

The instrument supports established Ethernet tests including RFC 2544, Y.1564 (NetSAM), bit error rate testing, and TREND Networks’ SLA-Tick test. These measurements help reveal throughput, frame loss, delay, jitter, and service interruptions. The Duo PRO can test up to eight service streams at the same time, which is useful when a link carries different types of traffic, such as voice, video, and data.

For day-to-day work, the UniPRO MGig1 Duo PRO separates device, service, and test settings so technicians can set up repeatable measurements more easily. A one-button Autotest can run a user-defined sequence without constant supervision. By bringing service activation tests, multistream performance checks, and live network monitoring into one instrument, it gives installation and maintenance teams a practical way to document link performance and track down problems.
