The VIAVI CellAdvisor 5G is a portable base-station analyzer used to install, verify, and troubleshoot 5G cellular networks. It helps technicians assess radio performance when bringing new cell sites into service and maintaining existing installations.

One of its main functions is real-time spectrum analysis, which displays radio signals across frequencies. Technicians use this capability to detect interference and investigate unwanted signals that may affect network performance.

The instrument also analyzes 5G antenna beams, measuring individual beam identifiers, power levels, and signal-to-noise ratios. These measurements help engineers evaluate beamforming performance and investigate poor radio coverage. Its route-mapping function records beam strength across locations to support coverage verification. 

With suitable options and accessories, CellAdvisor 5G supports testing across fiber, coaxial cable, and over-the-air interfaces. Applications include cable and antenna analysis, fiber-connection inspection, and verification of links between baseband equipment and remote radios.

Designed for field use, CellAdvisor 5G combines several inspection and measurement functions in one platform. Its reporting tools and integration with VIAVI StrataSync help technicians organize results and document completed work.
