The VIAVI OneExpert ONX-730 is a handheld tester for installing, activating, and troubleshooting multi-gigabit broadband services. Designed for hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) networks, it brings cable signal analysis and network service testing together in a rugged instrument for field technicians.
For cable network work, the ONX-730 uses a DOCSIS 3.1 RF module to assess downstream and upstream signals, identify interference, and help locate service problems. Its guided OneCheck workflows present clear results, making it easier to verify a connection after installation or repair.
The tester also supports Ethernet connections from 100 Mbps through 10 Gbps using its RJ-45 port. Technicians can check IP connectivity, run ping and traceroute tests, and measure service speed to determine whether a customer is receiving the expected performance. Optical Ethernet testing through SFP+ is available with the appropriate option and transceiver.
Depending on its configuration, the ONX-730 can add PON optical power measurements, fiber fault-location tools, and Wi‑Fi 7 testing. Its modular design lets service providers equip technicians for the networks they maintain, while saved results support documentation and follow-up troubleshooting.
