The CMA5000 is a field portable, network testing platform designed for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of next generation, convergence networks. It features a common user interface, open architecture design and numerous test technologies that allow the platform to evolve with user testing needs and address ever-changing telecommunication infrastructures.
Comprehensive physical layer characterization is simplified with all required testing applications including OTDR, Optical Spectrum Analysis, Loss Test Set and Optical Return Loss. Supplemental tools such as a Visual Fault Locator and Video Inspection Probe are also available providing a complete testing solution. As services are deployed, the CMA5000 expands to certify performance of Gigabit Ethernet and SONET/SDH networks up to 10Gb/s.

CMA 5700 Gigabit Ethernet Module
The CMA 5700 is a double (2) bay module and can be used in either an SBA, MBA or LBA. It features 2 ports for SX, LX or 1550 nm GBIC interfaces for 1000 Mbps optical ethernet testing and 2 ports for RJ45 interfaces for 10/100/1000 Mbps electrical ethernet testing.
The CMA5000 Gigabit Ethernet module features four full gigabit line rate ports - two GBIC ports and two RJ-45 electrical 10/100/1000 ports. Test basic networks with the T'Gen / Monitor application. The RFC-2544 application measure critical parameters during network installation, including throughput, latency, burstability and frame loss (as detailed in RFC 2544). For in dpeth troubleshooting, the Channel Statistics option allows the user to quickly identify the root cause of network impairments, not just the symptoms. Channel Statistics presents detailed statistics on all traffic received for up to 8,000 individual Ethernet or IP addresses, VLAN tags or MPLS labels. Full line rate traffic generation and shaping for 10/100/1000 Base-T, 1000 BASE-SX, 1000 BASE-LX AND 1000 BASE-EX networks, combined with comprehensive professional reporting, ensures the easy installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and documentation of 10/100/1000 Mbps based ethernet networks.

The CMA 5501 is a double-deep (4-Bay) module that must be used with a MBA or LBA.

When characterizing and documenting such stringent performance levels, the CMA 5000 Optical Spectrum Analysis (OSA) application is the ideal single-solution for facilitating accurate and efficient channel management, power balancing and tuning throughout the network. The OSA application lowers DWDM installation and maintenance costs by providing industryleading spectral analysis of system-critical parameters.
Operating from 1450-1650 nm (S-, C- and L-bands), the OSA module for the CMA 5000 maintains industry-leading accuracy performance over the entire temperature and spectral range. In addition, 30 dB of OSNR at ±25 GHz channel spacing is perfect for testing high-capacity DWDM systems.
