The PRUFTECHNIK SHAFTALIGN Laser Shaft Alignment Tool is a portable precision instrument used to align the shafts of connected rotating machines. Maintenance technicians use it on equipment such as motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes, and compressors to ensure the shaft centerlines line up correctly.

The system uses a laser sensor and reflector mounted on the shafts or couplings. Measurements taken at different rotational positions reveal offset misalignment, where the shaft centerlines are displaced, and angular misalignment, where they sit at different angles. The handheld computer processes these readings and displays the alignment condition.

SHAFTALIGN calculates the adjustments needed at the machine feet, helping technicians determine how far to move the machine sideways or how much shim material to add or remove. Features such as Live Move provide feedback during adjustments, while the soft foot check helps identify uneven support beneath the machine.
